Once installed, you are not automatically a mining god. The pack hides all non-ore blocks (stone, andesite, granite, dirt, gravel). Here is how to optimize your gameplay:

Since Eaglercraft runs in your browser, the installation process is slightly different from standard Minecraft but still very simple.
