The name "Backroom Casting Couch" itself implies a sense of secrecy and illicit dealings. It's a reference to the supposedly exclusive and high-pressure world of casting, where talent is discovered in the most unlikely and secluded of places. However, in reality, these situations often involve little more than exploitation and manipulation.

Seeing ourselves reflected in the media we consume can have a profound impact on our self-esteem, identity, and sense of belonging. When we don't see people who look like us or share our experiences, it can lead to feelings of exclusion and marginalization. The lack of representation can also perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce systemic inequalities.
