Mod textures are demanding. The original PSP had 32MB of RAM. PPSSPP on a modern phone or PC might handle 4K textures, but here are some tips:
Inside the TEXTURES folder, you need a folder named exactly UCUS98765 . Note: Some modders use ULUS10596 – check your mod’s readme. For -nsuni- , 99% of the time it is UCUS98765 . Mod textures are demanding
Pro tip: Avoid packs labeled “-nsuni- only” if they lack recent updates. Look for 2024–2026 releases. Mod textures are demanding
To complement your new textures, set the following in PPSSPP’s Graphics settings: Mod textures are demanding
Copy the (the UCUS98765 folder or its internal texreplace folder) into your PPSSPP’s TEXTURES directory. The final path should look like: .../PSP/TEXTURES/UCUS98765/texreplace/
