: AutoCAD 2005 uses the AC1018 DWG format. Newer versions of AutoCAD can open these files, but AutoCAD 2005 cannot open drawings saved in newer formats (e.g., AutoCAD 2018 or 2025) unless they are first saved down to a compatible version.
